Washington Then & Now
Washington Then & Now is Westcliffe Publisher's eighth offering in its "Then & Now" series, pairing historical photographs with contemporary shots taken of the same locations. The reader may know the fancier name for this convention: "repeat photography."
Westcliffe's founder John Fielder devoted the first title to his home state, and when Colorado: 1870–2000 was a huge success, he looked to other states, publishing books on Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Utah, Oregon, and Ohio. Now, six years later, this initiative has reached the northwest corner of the country, with 163 examples of Washington state "repeats" featured here.
