Seattle Panoramas
For reasons that are obvious three photographers (at least) climbed, drove or took the trolley to Duwamish Head to photograph nearly the full length of Seattle’s east shore, from Smith Cove to Harbor Island.
The first by F.V. Clancy is copyrighted 1907, but may have been taken in 1906. We will soon sort that out. The second one, by whom we as yet do not know, was photographed in 1908, and the third by the Webster and Stevens Studio in 1910. We think probably in June. Again, we will sort this out as well.
For now we have, at least, got them up and synchronized as well as we can. By the need to avoid obstructing trees Jean Sherrard’s 2007 pan was recorded from a prospect that is a few yards north of the historical photographer’s perch. The adjustments required of the “reader” can be readily managed.
